Beyond The Fringe Salon Academy is tucked away in S B Market at shop number 7 in Vile Parle West. It’s a lively area, and being in the market means there is always something going on right outside our door. Inside, we are mostly busy with scissors, combs, and hair products. It’s a place where people come to learn the trade, so you’ll often see students practicing on mannequins or helping out with clients. We’ve got mirrors lined up along the walls and the smell of shampoo is pretty constant. It’s not a fancy corporate training center; it’s a working salon where learning happens on the floor. We spend our hours showing how to get a cut just right or how to mix colors properly. Vile Parle West is a busy part of town, so we get a lot of foot traffic and people peering in through the windows. The space is a bit cramped sometimes when we have several students working at once, but we make it work.
