Beta Intercom Network is based over at Grant Road, at 14305. If you have spent any time in this part of town, you know it is famous for all sorts of technical and electronic shops. Our place is no different. It is a functional space filled with spools of wire, handsets, and various testing tools. The area is always noisy with the sound of traffic and people looking for parts. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting at the workbench fixing circuit boards. It is not a very large office, mostly just enough room for the equipment and a couple of desks. The shelves are packed with old and new intercom systems. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what we are looking for because there is so much stuff tucked away. We deal with a lot of building societies and small offices around the neighborhood. The work involves a lot of climbing around and checking connections, so we are often out on calls. When we are in the shop, we are usually testing lines or trying to figure out why a particular unit isn't working. It is honest work and keeps us busy from morning till night. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but it has been our home for quite some time now. We aren't trying to be anything big, just a reliable spot on Grant Road for intercom needs. It gets the job done.
