Our place of work is in the 'A' Wing of the R.B.C., Mahindra Towers, right there on the first floor in Worli. It’s a busy spot, and getting through the security at the gate can take a while if you arrive at the same time as everyone else. Once you’re inside, it’s just rows of desks and people on headsets. We’ve been in this building for a while now. The carpets are getting a bit worn in the high-traffic areas, and the coffee machine in the corner is a bit temperamental, but it gets us through the morning. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls. Mostly just calendars and some charts that need updating. The work for Basf India Ltd is mostly administrative, handling all the details that keep everything from falling apart. It’s a lot of emails and phone calls. Sometimes the air conditioning is too loud, and sometimes it doesn't work at all, which makes for a long afternoon. We all have our own little ways of decorating our desks with photos or small plants to make it feel a bit more like home. It’s just a regular workplace with regular people. We try to get along and get the work finished so we can go home to our families. Worli is a loud place, but once you’re inside the towers, it’s mostly just the sound of typing and the occasional stapler.
