Balaji Automobiles is over in Ghatkopar East. The address is Harni Varasia Ring Road, varasia Shop No 21, Janta Colony, Andhe. It’s right there on the ring road, so there is always traffic noise. Cars and bikes are constantly passing by. It is a small shop, number 21, and we have been here for quite some time. The floor is usually covered in oil and grease. That is just part of the job when you deal with vehicles. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or air conditioning. Most people just stand around or sit on a plastic chair while we work. The area around Janta Colony is pretty crowded. There is a lot of dust from the road. We open early because that is when people want to get their things fixed. It’s a lot of manual work. My hands are usually dirty by nine in the morning. We don’t talk much, just focus on the engines and the parts. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find a specific part, but we manage. People know us as the local spot on the ring road. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. Balaji Automobiles is just a place where things get repaired. We take one job at a time. It’s tiring work but it pays the bills. We stay open until the sun goes down and the traffic thins out. Sometimes we stay late if there is an urgent job. It is just life.
