Deonar is a tough place to work if you don't like dust and the sound of big engines. Bal Roadlines Pvt Ltd is based at B/29, right in the heart of the transport hub. This isn't a place for fancy offices. We have a lot of paperwork, stacks of logs, and drivers coming in and out at all hours. The smell of diesel is just something you live with here. We've been operating out of this unit for a long time. It’s mostly about making sure the trucks are moving and the loads are where they need to be. We don't have a big marketing team or a glossy brochure. If you need something moved, you just come talk to us. The chai stall around the corner is where most of the real business happens. We spend our mornings checking schedules and our evenings worrying about traffic on the highway. It’s a lot of phone calls to people in different cities. The office is functional, with heavy wooden desks and old filing cabinets that have seen better days. Sometimes we stay overnight when a big shipment is coming through. Deonar is always awake, so we are too. It is a gritty, hardworking environment and we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves in a quiet suburban office. We just keep the wheels turning as best as we can every single day.
