Bakul Aromatics & Chemicals is based in the Sterling Centre on Dr. Annie Besant Road. We are up on the 4th floor. It’s a busy part of the city, and the view from the office window is mostly just more buildings and lots of cars stuck in traffic. Working in an office building is a bit different from being on a factory floor, but we still deal with the same practical issues. We spend most of our time coordinating with our production sites and making sure the logistics are moving. The office is a bit crowded with metal filing cabinets and stacks of reports. We don't have any of that modern minimalist furniture; it’s just solid desks that have been here for years. The lift in the Sterling Centre is sometimes slow, so we end up waiting around and chatting with people from the other floors. We deal with aromatics and various chemicals, which means there’s a lot of technical data to keep track of every day. It’s not the most exciting work to describe to others, but it keeps us busy from nine to five. We don't do much in the way of promotion. Most of our business comes from long-standing contracts and people who have known us for decades. It’s a stable, quiet way to run a chemical company in a very loud city. We just handle the emails and the phone calls and keep the business moving forward.
