Our place, Devi Prasad Aromatics, is tucked away in Mahendra Mansion. It’s No-32/28 on Badugenu Road, right off Princess Street. If you find the Corporation Bank in Kalbadevi, we are right near there. It’s a busy part of town, always something going on outside. We have a lot of stuff packed into our space. It can be a bit cramped sometimes but we know where everything is. We spend most of our time sorting through things and talking to the people who drop in. We don’t really go for those polished business looks you see in magazines. It’s more about the work here. The building has been around a while and so have we. You get used to the noise from the street after a bit. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. Sometimes we have tea and chat with the regulars. It’s that kind of place. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. It’s not always easy, especially when the deliveries are late, but we get through it. Kalbadevi is a good area for a business like ours. There’s always people around and the location is convenient once you know the shortcuts. We like being part of the neighborhood. It feels right. Most days we are here from morning until the sun goes down.
