Our workshop is at Plot No. 16-B, right near Gaurav Hotel. If you know Hindustan Naka in Kandivali West, you’ve probably passed by us without even noticing. Avalon Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is the name on the door, though most of us just say Avalon. It’s a typical engineering setup with tools and metal everywhere. It gets pretty loud when the machines are running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other over the clatter. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time now. The area around Hindustan Naka is always crowded with traffic, especially near the hotel, so getting parts delivered can be a headache sometimes. We just deal with it. The office part is small and usually covered in blueprints or scribbled notes. We don’t have any fancy receptionists or anything like that. Usually, you’ll just find one of us with grease on our hands or looking at a computer screen. It’s steady work. We fix things, build things, and try to make sure everything runs the way it’s supposed to. Some days are longer than others, especially when a project gets stuck. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during those late nights. It’s a decent place to work if you don’t mind a bit of dirt and noise. We like it here because we know everyone on the street. It’s just a bunch of us doing what we know how to do best for the neighborhood businesses.
