Ava Engineers

Ava Engineers is on the first floor of Vimal Udyog Bhavan. That’s an old industrial building in the Taikalwadi area of Matunga West. If you’ve been around Mumbai, you know these kinds of buildings have a lot of character and a lot of history. Our space is A-3, and while it might not look like much from the outside, we get a lot done inside these walls. The hallways are often filled with the sounds of other small workshops nearby. Being in Matunga means we have great access to the railway and some of the best snacks in the city just a short walk away. We spend our days looking over blueprints and working on various engineering problems. It’s a lot of technical stuff that keeps us busy from morning until evening. The office is a bit crowded with filing cabinets and old prototypes, but it feels like home to us. We aren't interested in being the biggest engineering firm out there; we just want to be reliable. We have a small team, and everyone knows their part. Sometimes the elevator in the building is temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It keeps us moving. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just come in, do the engineering work that’s needed, and try to make sure everything we build is solid and does what it should.
