Being at Shop No 31 on Marol Maroshi Road means we see a lot of people walking by every day. It’s a busy part of the Mico Layout, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We’ve been cutting hair here for a while now. The shop isn’t huge, but there’s enough room for a few chairs and a place for people to wait their turn. We use the standard stuff, mirrors that have seen better days and clippers that we keep oiled up and sharp. It’s mostly locals who come in to see us. You get to know their names and how they like their hair done without them even having to ask. We don’t do anything too fancy, just regular cuts and shaves. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, but nobody really seems to mind. There are some old magazines on the table, though most people just look at their phones now. Working in the 1st Stage area is good because you feel like part of the neighborhood. On weekends it gets really crowded and there isn't much time to sit down. My hands get pretty tired by Sunday night. We keep the place as clean as we can, sweeping up the hair after every person finishes. It’s honest work. If you’re around the 5th Main, you’ll probably see our sign out front. It's just a simple place for a quick trim.
