ASSOCIATED TEXTILES

Our office is over in Andheri East, specifically at 1112 Reyfreda Arcade. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area gets. We’ve been working in the textile business from this spot for a while now. It’s not a factory; it’s more where we handle the business side of things, look at fabric samples, and talk to our suppliers. The room is usually full of swatches and rolls of cloth. We deal with different types of textiles, trying to find what the garment makers are looking for. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking on shipments. Sometimes the logistics can be a headache with the traffic and the rain, but we make it work. We aren't a high-fashion boutique. We’re more about the raw materials and the bulk orders. We spend our time making sure the feel of the yarn or the weave is what it’s supposed to be. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes, keeping up with the demands of the market, but we’ve got a good handle on it. People come by the arcade to see what’s new or to pick up samples. We don’t have a fancy reception desk, just a place to sit and look at fabrics. We’ve grown to like the chaos of Andheri. It keeps us on our toes and reminds us that there’s always someone looking for a good roll of cloth to start their next project.
