Associated Engineering Co

Associated Engineering Co is based in Kalina, at unit 3/8-S. It’s a modest workshop in an area that’s known for having a lot of small-scale industrial activity. When you walk into our space, the first thing you notice is probably the rows of tools hanging on the walls and the smell of grease. We’ve got a few workbenches that have been beaten up over the years, but they’re solid and do the job perfectly. It’s a small team here, just a handful of us who know exactly how to handle the machines. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room; if someone comes by, they usually just walk straight into the work area and find whoever isn't currently busy with a tool. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks in it, but we keep it as clean as you can expect for an engineering shop. We have an old radio that plays in the background, mostly just to keep some noise going while we work. The 3/8-S unit isn't huge, so we have to be organized about where we put the parts and materials. It’s a very hands-on environment. There aren't any mission statements on the walls or corporate goals. We just focus on the project in front of us, fix what needs fixing, and try to make sure everything leaves the shop in working order. It’s basic, local engineering at its most practical.
