Ashwini Roadlines

Ashwini Roadlines is based at 44/C/6 in Byculla West. We are on the 6th Cross, near the Divanra Palya area in Patanwala Mahal. It’s an old part of the city with narrow lanes, which can be a headache for the trucks. I’ve been in the transport business for a long time now. My office is small and usually filled with the smell of diesel and old paper. We handle moving goods from one place to another. It’s a lot of coordination with drivers and making sure they don't get stuck in traffic for too long. Byculla is central, which helps, but the 6th Cross is always a bit of a squeeze. I have a couple of old desks and a map on the wall that's seen better days. I spend most of my time on the phone shouting over the street noise to talk to the guys on the road. It’s stressful work sometimes when a delivery is late or a truck breaks down. I don't have a corporate background, just learned the ropes by doing it. The Patanwala Mahal area has its own history and I've seen it change a lot over the years. We just focus on getting the loads delivered. There’s no fancy branding on our side, just reliable trucks and people who know the routes. It’s a messy, loud business but it's what I know. We stay busy through the week.
