Ascot Hotel

Ascot Hotel is located at 38 Garden Road in the Colaba area. This part of Mumbai has a very specific feel to it, with the old buildings and the sea breeze coming in if you walk a few blocks. We are on a street that is a bit quieter than the main causeway, which is nice for the people staying with us. The hotel is a tallish building and we’ve tried to keep it looking decent over the years. We don't have a giant lobby or a fancy gym, but we do have rooms that are comfortable enough for a few nights. The staff usually knows who is coming and going because we aren't so big that you get lost in the crowd. We spend a lot of time dealing with the humidity of Mumbai, which means constant painting and cleaning to keep things from looking worn out. It is a bit of a struggle sometimes with the old wiring or the narrow elevators, but we manage. People like being able to walk to the Gateway of India or the shops nearby. We are just a local team of people working shifts to make sure the guests have what they need. There is no big mystery to how we run things; we just show up, handle the bookings, and make sure the coffee is hot in the morning for whoever wants some. It is just a regular hotel life on Garden Road.
