At Aryan Transport Pvt Ltd, we work out of the Koli Samaj Building, specifically No 3/1, down in the Sewri area. We are right in the middle of the Gopal Industrial Estate, so it is always busy with trucks and workers moving around. Being in an industrial zone means it is never really quiet, and there is always a layer of dust on everything. We handle a lot of different transport needs for the businesses around here. Our office is a simple place where we keep the records and meet with the drivers before they head out. I’ve lived and worked around Sewri for a long time, so I know the shortcuts and the trouble spots in the local traffic. It is a family-type operation where everyone knows their job and just gets on with it. We don't have any big corporate policies, we just try to be honest with the people we work with. If a truck is going to be late, we tell them. It is a lot of hard work and sometimes the margins are thin, but we’ve managed to stay in business by being consistent. The building itself is old but it serves us well enough for what we need. We spend most of our day on the phone or checking the loading bay. It’s not the most glamorous job in the world, but it keeps the wheels turning in this part of the city. We just take it one load at a time and try to stay organized despite the constant noise.
