Our office is over on Masjid Mutha Road in Pirangut, tucked away on the third floor. You have to go behind Patva Chamber to find the entrance which isn't always obvious to everyone. It's a bit of a climb up the stairs since the lift is sometimes acting up. We spend most of our day on the phone talking to drivers or checking where the trucks are stuck in traffic. It gets loud around here because of all the heavy vehicles moving through the industrial zone. Most of the paperwork happens on these old wooden desks that have been here since we opened. We handle a lot of different types of loads, mostly just whatever the local factories need moving to the city. Sometimes things get delayed because of the rain or road repairs but that is just how it goes in this line of work. It’s not a glamorous job at all. We mostly drink way too much chai and look at logbooks. The guys downstairs know us well. We’ve been in this building for quite some time now, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. It’s a busy life but we’re used to the noise and the constant phone calls. You just have to keep track of everything or it gets messy real quick. We keep it straightforward here and try to get the work done before it gets too late in the evening. There is always a truck somewhere that needs attention.
