Artland Gallery

We are situated on the third floor of Esplanade Mansion in Colaba. It’s an old building, very well-known in this part of the city. We are right opposite the Jehangir Art Gallery, so there are always tourists and art lovers walking around outside. Being on the third floor means we have to climb some stairs or hope the lift is working well that day. Artland Gallery is a space where we keep a lot of our things on display. It’s got that specific Colaba feel—high ceilings and a bit of a worn-in look. We aren't a big, shiny corporate gallery. It feels more like a personal studio sometimes. We spend our days dusting the frames and making sure everything looks okay. The light comes in through the old windows and hits the floor at an angle in the evenings. It’s a pretty simple setup. We have a desk in the corner where we handle the books and talk to visitors. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the age of the building, but we keep on top of it. It’s a busy neighborhood, but once you are inside, it feels a bit more removed from the noise of the street. We just go about our business, looking after the art and the space. It’s a good spot to be in, and we've grown quite fond of the quirks of this old building. It has a lot of character.
