Ken Kreations

Ken Kreations is located in Bhandup West, inside the old Pannalal Mills Compound. If you know the Bhandup Industrial Estate, you know it’s a place that stays busy from dawn until late at night. Our unit is number 4035. It’s an old building, and the walls have seen a lot of years. We do a lot of our work right there on the shop floor. There is usually a layer of dust from whatever we are cutting or assembling that day. We don't wear suits or ties here; it’s mostly old t-shirts and jeans that we don't mind getting dirty. The light in the compound can be a bit dim in the corners, so we have extra lamps scattered around our workbenches. We spend a lot of time measuring things and then measuring them again because we hate wasting material. It gets loud when the neighbors are running their machines too, so we usually have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We’ve got a small kettle for tea, and that’s about the only luxury we have in the place. The floor is concrete and hard on the feet after eight hours. We just focus on the task in front of us, whether it’s a small piece or a larger project. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by people who are also just trying to make things. It’s a no-nonsense kind of environment where we just get the work done as it comes.
