Art Carat

Art Carat is located over at number 47 in Khodiyar Nagar, near the Fort area. We have been working out of this spot for quite some time now. It’s a place where we deal with jewelry and stones, mostly. The area around us is pretty busy with people and traffic, but our shop is a bit more tucked away from the main noise. We don't have a big glass front like the shops you see in the city center or the malls. It’s more of a workspace where we actually sit and look at the pieces carefully. There are tools on the benches and some small scales for weighing things. Most of our visitors come by word of mouth. Someone tells a neighbor about us, and they show up a week later asking for help. We do some repairs and sometimes we have pieces we’ve finished and put out for people to see. It is a quiet business, really. We spend a lot of time hunched over the workbench with magnifying glasses on. The lighting has to be just right, so we have these bright lamps everywhere. Khodiyar Nagar has its own vibe, and we feel like we fit in well here. We are not trying to be a luxury boutique. We are just people who know how to work with jewelry and stones. Sometimes the work is slow and careful, but that’s the only way to do it right. If you find yourself in the Fort area, that is where we are.
