We've been at the Hammersmith Industrial Estate in Mahim for a long while now. It’s unit 305. If you know Sitladevi Temple Road, you know how busy it gets around here, especially when the morning rush starts. We spend most of our days surrounded by boards and components. Some days the fans just don't feel like they're doing enough, but we get on with it. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we look at electronics all day. The building has that old industrial smell, which you get used to after the first week. We mostly just keep our heads down and work through the pile of things that need checking. Sometimes the tea guy comes around twice, sometimes he forgets. It's a bit of a maze getting up to the third floor if the lift is acting up again, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, though the temple traffic stays the same. The workbench is always cluttered with wires and testers. Most of us have been here long enough to know where every single screwdriver is kept, even if the place looks a mess to an outsider. It’s just how we run things at Arshad Electronics. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking, just the daily grind of making sure stuff works before it leaves the door.
