Arihant Cement Products

Arihant Cement Products is down at 3/14 Panthaky Baug on H.S. Road. It’s an area where things are always moving, and there is quite a bit of dust because of the nature of what we handle. We work with cement and various molded products every day. Our yard is usually filled with stacks of items waiting to be moved out. It’s physical work, and the staff here is used to the heavy lifting. We wear boots that are usually covered in grey dust by the end of the shift. The office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the ledgers and the phone. It’s often loud because of the trucks coming in and out of the Baug. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. It’s a functional space for making and storing cement goods. We take our breaks together, usually sitting on whatever is handy. The weather hits us hard here, whether it’s the heavy rains in Mumbai or the humid heat. We just keep going regardless of the season. People in the neighborhood know us by the sound of the machinery and the sight of the delivery lorries. There aren’t any fancy signs or slogans around here. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the counts are right before things get loaded up for delivery. It’s a rough and ready kind of life, but it keeps us busy and moving.
