Apsara Traders

Apsara Traders is based in the Akbar Lala Compound in Azad Nagar. We’re right in front of the Budh Mandir in Ghatkopar West. It’s a very lively neighborhood. You can hear the sounds from the temple throughout the day. Our warehouse and office are in the same compound. It’s a bit of an old building and the doors creak quite a bit. We trade in a lot of different goods, so the inventory is always changing. One day it might be full of bags of grain and the next it’s something else entirely. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks in the hot sun. The dust from the road gets everywhere. We have a small cabin where we do the accounts. It has an old ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise but it keeps us cool. We aren't a big corporation. It’s just a family-run kind of thing. We know most of the people in the compound by name. There’s no fancy lobby or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you just walk past the crates and find someone. We use old wooden desks and the walls are covered in calendars from previous years. It’s a busy, messy, and honest way to make a living. We’ve been here for years and the routine doesn't change much. It’s just about getting the goods in and out. Most work is done by hand here.
