Anupam Colours

Our shop is tucked into the Kaveri CHS building over in Andheri East. It is at 103/105 Jagannath, which can be a bit tricky to find if you are not looking for it. We have got cans of paint stacked from the floor to the ceiling. Most days, the air smells like thinners and fresh pigment. It is a small space, so we have to be careful how we move around so we do not knock anything over. People come in from Yellachanahalli and the surrounding blocks. They usually have a scrap of paper with a color they liked or an old lid from a tin they finished years ago. We spend a lot of time helping them find something that looks right under the shop lights. It is not always easy because colors look different once they are on a wall. We have the mixing machine in the corner, and it makes a loud humming noise whenever we are working on a custom shade. The floor has a lot of old drips and spills on it, which I guess shows how long we have been at it. We are not a big chain store, just a local spot where you can get a brush and a bucket of white without much fuss. Sometimes the delivery guys struggle with the traffic in Andheri, so the shop gets a bit crowded with crates waiting to be unpacked. It is just the way it goes here. We take it one customer at a time.
