Anuj Prints

You can find Anuj Prints tucked away in the Mohammed Ali Compound. We are at Gate Number 1 in Malad West, right next to the Goodluck Salon. The compound is a busy place with a lot of different small businesses all packed together. Our print shop is often filled with the smell of ink and the rhythmic thumping of the machines. We have stacks of paper and finished prints sitting on almost every flat surface. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. Most of the time, we are busy adjusting settings or checking the quality of a run. Being next to a salon means there is a constant stream of people coming and going, so it never feels lonely. The traffic in Malad can be a nightmare, but we are used to the noise and the dust by now. We don't have a fancy storefront with big signs. We just have our name on the door and the work we do speaks for itself. People in the compound know us and we know them. We take our work seriously but we don't act like we are doing anything more than just printing what people need. It’s a steady life, and we are happy to be part of the local mix here. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, but that is just how things are.
