Ankur Hospital

Ankur Hospital is right here on Mathuradas Road in Kandivali West. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping or heading home. We’ve been at this spot for a long time now. The building is a bit older, and the paint isn't as bright as it used to be, but it stays cool inside. We have a small waiting area with those plastic chairs that always seem to rattle. There is a small counter where the staff handle the paperwork, and sometimes the files get a bit stacked up. You can hear the rickshaws honking outside all day long. It’s just how it is in Kandivali. Most of our patients are people from the nearby apartments or the chawls. They know us by name, and we know them. We don't have any of those fancy coffee machines or big TV screens in the lobby. Usually, there’s just a newspaper from two days ago and a fan that makes a bit of a clicking sound. The doctors are busy, and the nurses are usually running around with trays. It’s a plain place, really. We just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. It’s loud, but it works. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood, sitting there on the corner where everyone passes by. We don't worry much about looking fancy as long as we can keep the doors open and help whoever walks in.
