Anand Engineering Company

Anand Engineering Company has been operating out of the Laxmi Wollen Mill Compound for a while now. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with the Mahalaxmi area or Kondivita Cross Road. It’s an old industrial spot, so there is a lot of history in these walls. The floor is mostly concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We do a lot of heavy lifting here. Machines are running most of the day, so it’s never really quiet in the shop. We deal with various engineering tasks that people bring in from across the city. Sometimes it is just small parts, other times it is much bigger projects that take up the whole floor space for weeks. The grease and oil are just part of the daily routine. We wear old clothes because everything gets stained eventually when you are working with metal. Lunch usually happens on a small wooden table in the corner. There is a lot of metal scrap piled up near the entrance that we sort through once a week. The neighbors are mostly other workshops, so we all know each other well. If someone needs a tool or a bit of help, they just walk over and ask. It’s a practical way to work. We don't spend much time on decorations. The focus is always on the machines and getting the measurements right before the sun goes down.
