We have been operating out of Kakad Udyog Bhavan on the third floor for a good long time now. If you are traveling along the Mumbai-Pune Road in Mahim, you will find our building at number 120. It is a busy area with a lot of traffic, but we have grown used to the noise over the years. Our space is basically just a regular printing workshop filled with paper stacks and the smell of ink. It isn’t a glossy showroom or anything like that, just a place where we get the job done. Some days the machines run smooth and other days we have to tinker with them a bit to keep things moving. We handle all sorts of printing requests from people in the neighborhood. Usually, someone walks in with a file and we see what we can do for them. The third-floor location means we get a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at the work on the tables. We keep things simple here. There are no big meetings or fancy titles, just a few of us making sure the colors look right on the page. Sometimes the power cuts or the delivery truck is late, but that is just how it goes in this part of town. We just keep at it because people need their stuff printed. It is not always perfect, but we try to be consistent with our work.
