Amwaj Family Salon

Our salon is tucked away in Chand Society on the road that leads to Iskon Mukteshwar Devalay. Since we are so close to the Iskon Temple in Juhu, we get a real mix of people coming in. Some are just visiting the temple from far away and others live right here in the society. Juhu is a busy part of Mumbai, but our street is a little bit tucked away from the main beach crowd. It is a family salon, so we see everyone from little kids to grandparents. The chairs are comfortable enough, even if they are not the newest models out there. We have been at this location for a bit and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The morning starts with tea and getting the mirrors wiped down. We do not have any big marketing slogans or fancy posters. We just work on hair and whatever else folks need when they walk in. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded on Sunday mornings when everyone is off work. We just take it one person at a time and do not rush. The light inside is okay, though we added some extra bulbs last year to see better. It is a practical space for practical work. We know most of the neighbors in Chand Society by name now. It feels like a small community even though we are in such a big city. We just do our jobs and go home.
