Amritsar Bombay Carriers

Amritsar Bombay Carriers is based at 201 Chakla Street Cross Lane, right in the thick of things in Phase-4 G I D C. We spend a lot of our time on the phone with drivers or checking on the trucks. It’s definitely not a glamorous job. Loading and unloading goods at the warehouse takes up most of our energy. We see a lot of boxes and crates every single day. Sometimes the traffic around here is a total nightmare. We started out pretty small and we’ve stayed that way mostly. It’s just us keeping track of where everything is supposed to be. The weather gets really hot inside the industrial shed during the summer months. People are constantly coming in and out of Chakla Street all day long. It’s basically about getting things from one city to another without losing our minds. My desk is usually covered in old receipts and logbooks. We know these routes like the back of our hands. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We don’t use any fancy tracking software, just our own records and memory. It gets quite noisy with the trucks idling outside the gate. Sometimes we have to stay late because a delivery got stuck somewhere. That’s just the way it goes in this line of work. We have been here a while now. Most of our day involves making sure the paperwork actually matches what is in the trucks.
