My shop is in Goregaon West, specifically at Bhagat Singh Nagar No 1. It’s right near the Masjid, so I hear the calls to prayer throughout the day. It’s a small place, Shop No 2, right on the Link Road. Because of the location, there’s always a lot of noise from the cars and rickshaws going by. I’ve got the usual setup—big mirrors, three chairs, and a small bench for people to wait. I’ve been cutting hair here for quite a while now. Most of my customers are locals who live in the nearby buildings. They come in for a quick haircut or a shave before work. We talk about the local news or how the traffic is getting worse on the Link Road. It’s a simple business. I don’t have fancy hair products or expensive treatments. I just use a good pair of scissors and a steady razor. The shop is small, so it can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting, but nobody seems to mind. I try to keep it clean, but hair gets everywhere by the end of the day. I open up early and stay until late evening. It’s just me and maybe one other guy helping out. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. It’s a neighborhood spot for a basic trim.
