Down at Plot No.19 in the Kashimira Industrial Estate, things stay pretty steady. We are tucked away near the Post Mira area, which is a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to these narrow roads. Being Amogh Chemicals means there is always a particular smell in the air, mostly from the raw materials we keep in the back. The drums get moved around early in the morning so we can start the mixing and processing without getting behind. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and pouring, and making sure the labels don’t peel off in the humidity. The rainy season is always a challenge here because the water pools up near the entrance, but we’ve got some planks down to keep our feet dry. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that; it’s just a desk in the corner of the warehouse where we handle the paperwork. Lunch is usually taken sitting on the crates or outside if the breeze is okay. We know the neighbors well enough to borrow a tool when something breaks. It’s just a small group of us working through the batches every week. We try to get the deliveries out before the evening traffic gets too bad around Kashimira. It’s basic work, nothing too complicated, just making sure the chemical orders are filled correctly and on time for the local trucks to pick them up.
