About Amod Make Up Artist – Beauty & Salon in Mumbai
Goregaon East is where I usually start my day. I spend a lot of time on the train or in rickshaws carrying my big makeup kit. It’s heavy because I have to keep everything in there, from brushes to different shades of foundation. Most of the work I do is for local people getting ready for weddings or small functions. I don’t have a big fancy studio with lights everywhere; I usually go to the client's house or wherever they are getting ready. It gets quite busy during the wedding season, and I find myself waking up at 4 AM to reach someone's place. I'm not some big celebrity stylist, just someone who knows how to use a brush and make someone look okay for their big day. I learned a lot by just doing it over and over. Sometimes the lighting in people's houses is bad, so I have to manage with what I have. It’s a lot of standing and focusing on small details. My back hurts after a long day, but that’s part of the work. Goregaon is a busy area so moving around takes time. I try to keep my kit organized, though it gets messy after a few hours of work. I like seeing the change when I'm finished. It’s just me doing my thing, one face at a time.
