Amita Bhansali

You can find Amita Bhansali’s office on the 4th floor of the Himgiri Building. That’s at 32 Chatrapati Shivaji Marg in Cumballa Hill. Being on the fourth floor means we get a bit of a breeze if the windows are open, though the elevator is a bit slow sometimes. It’s an old building, but it has character, I guess. We spend most of our hours here just sorting through files and answering emails. It’s not the most exciting work, but it needs doing. The area is usually quite busy, especially during the lunch hour when everyone comes out. There’s a lot of history in this part of town, which you notice when you walk to the station. Our office is a bit crowded with boxes right now because we’re reorganizing, but that’s been the plan for months. We just work through whatever comes in. It’s a small office, so we all know each other’s business pretty well. Sometimes we have tea together, sometimes we just work through lunch if there’s a deadline. The furniture is getting a bit old, and the carpet has a few stains from spilled coffee over the years. We don’t really mind it though. It feels like a lived-in space where actual work happens every day. It’s just a normal office routine for us here in Himgiri. No big secrets or anything, just a lot of steady work.
