Amit Transport Corporation

Our office is located at J/18 in St Thomas Town, right on S V Road. It’s a busy area and finding parking can be a real headache sometimes if you arrive at the wrong hour. We’ve been running Amit Transport Corporation from this spot for a good bit of time. The building is older, but it works for what we need. Inside, it’s mostly just files, some old computers, and a lot of logbooks. S V Road is always loud with traffic, so you hear the horns and the engines all day long while we work. We handle a lot of different requests throughout the week. Sometimes it’s quiet, and other times the phones won't stop ringing. We try to stay organized, but with so many moving parts, it gets a bit messy occasionally. The staff here are locals, so we know the shortcuts and which roads to avoid during the monsoon rains. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights. Just the name on the door and a place for the drivers to check in. Most of the day is spent tracking shipments or talking to people about their schedules. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we’ve gotten into a rhythm over the years. St Thomas Town is a decent place to be based out of, even with the traffic on the main road. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
