Amit Transport Company

We operate out of J-18 in Andheri East, right on the Godhra Road. It is very close to the Ansa Industrial Estate, so things stay pretty busy around here at all hours. Our office is mostly just a place for the drivers to check in and for us to keep track of the logbooks. There is always a layer of dust on everything because of the heavy trucks moving in and out of the yard. We have a few old wooden chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their paperwork to be cleared. The phone rings a lot with people asking where their loads are or when a truck will arrive. It gets quite loud with the engines running outside and the horns honking on the main road. We keep a big calendar on the wall to mark down the dates, though it is usually covered in scribbles and notes. There is a small sink in the corner where we wash up, and there is usually a pot of tea sitting on a hot plate. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations, just some old photos and some maps pinned up. It is a working transport hub, so it is more about function than looking pretty for guests. The yard can get muddy when it rains, making it a bit of a trek to get to the main gate. We just focus on keeping the schedule moving along.
