Amey Hotel

Amey Hotel is located at Shop No 4 in the Krishna Industrial Estate, near Siddivinayak Chambers in Bandra East. Calling it a hotel is just the way things are named around here; it’s really more of a small eatery for the workers and office staff in the estate. We open up quite early because the industrial estate starts moving before the sun is even fully up. The space is small, so it’s mostly about efficiency. We have the daily specials written on a small board, and once something runs out, that’s it for the day. It’s a lot of manual work, carrying crates of supplies and keeping the tea kettle going. We see the same faces every single morning. People come in for a quick bite before their shift starts or during their afternoon break. The fans don't always do much against the heat from the kitchen, but nobody seems to mind. We’ve been in this shop for a while and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to get around to it. It’s a loud place with the sounds of the machinery from the nearby units mixing with the clatter of our plates. We don't spend money on advertising because the people in the industrial estate already know where we are. We just focus on keeping the food hot and the service fast enough for people on a short break.
