Ambuja Cements Limited

We are located out here in Navi Mumbai, dealing with the daily bustle of the city and the heavy traffic that comes with it. At Ambuja Cements Limited, it’s mostly a lot of coordination between the warehouse and the people needing supplies for their building projects. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks and a lot of registers, but it gets the job done. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking the loading bay to make sure the trucks are moving on time. Some days the humidity is just brutal, and you can feel the salt in the air being this close to the water. It makes everything feel a bit sticky, but you get used to it after a few months. Most of us have been here a while now. We know the regular drivers and the local guys who come by for small pickups. It’s a lot of physical work, even if you’re just doing the paperwork, because you’re always on your feet checking things. We don't have fancy coffee machines or anything, just a tea stall nearby where we go when things quiet down for a minute. The walls have some dust on them because, well, it’s a cement business and that’s just how it goes. We try to keep things organized so no one is waiting too long in the sun. It’s a steady rhythm of loading and unloading that keeps us going from morning until the gates close.
