Ambika Road Carriers

Ambika Road Carriers operates out of unit 33 in the Bombay Conon Mill Estate which has that old industrial feel to it that you only find in these former mill areas. It is a big dusty space where trucks are coming and going at all hours of the day and night. Our office is just a small part of the whole operation and it is usually filled with drivers checking their papers or drinking tea while they wait for their next assignment. There is always a smell of diesel and old paper in the air but we don't mind it much since we have been here for so long now. We do not have fancy computers or a high-tech tracking system with big screens on the wall like those big corporate companies do. Instead we have a lot of ledgers and a whiteboard that is covered in scribbles that only we can really understand. It is a busy life and sometimes things go wrong like a flat tire or a delay at the border but we just deal with it as it comes. We are mostly just a group of people who know how to move things from one place to another without a lot of drama. It is not a clean job and our clothes usually end up a bit dirty by the end of the shift but the work gets done and that is what matters.
