Ambika Gents Parlour

You can find us on R B Mehta Road in Ghatkopar East. It is a small shop tucked away on a busy street where people are always rushing to the station. Ambika Gents Parlour is just a simple place for a haircut or a shave. We have three old-fashioned chairs and big mirrors that have seen better days. The floor is usually covered in hair until we get a chance to sweep it between customers. We keep the radio on most of the time to drown out the noise of the traffic outside. The shop has that smell of shaving cream and cheap aftershave that sticks to everything. We get a lot of regular guys who have been coming here for years. They sit and talk about the news or the cricket scores while they wait their turn. It is not one of those fancy salons with the bright lights and the expensive coffee. We just do basic cuts and beard trims. Sometimes the water heater acts up and we have to fix it before we can do a proper shave. The afternoon sun comes through the front window and makes it quite warm in here. We have a small fan that wobbles on its stand but it does the job. It’s just a neighborhood spot where people know they can get a quick trim without any fuss. There is even a strange number on our address plate, 0.291666666666667, though nobody knows why it is there.
