You can find Amar Transport Services over at 20 Mazgaon. We’ve been operating from this spot for a long time. Mazgaon is always busy, especially with the docks nearby and all the heavy vehicles moving around at all hours. Our office is pretty basic, just a few desks, some old chairs, and a lot of maps and logbooks pinned to the walls. It isn't the kind of place where you’d expect a corporate meeting. There’s usually a thin layer of dust on everything from the traffic outside. We spend a lot of our time on the phone, checking where the drivers are or trying to figure out why a truck is stuck in traffic across town. It’s a lot of coordination and occasionally a bit of shouting when things don’t go as planned. We have a small fleet, and the drivers are mostly guys who have been with us for years. They know the roads better than any GPS. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just focus on getting the goods loaded and delivered. Some days are stressful when the weather is bad or a vehicle breaks down, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t try to pretend to be a giant logistics company. We’re just a local transport outfit making sure things get from one warehouse to another without too much trouble. It’s honest, hard work and it keeps us busy from morning till night, even when the humidity makes the paperwork stick to our desks.
