Out here in Majri Khurd, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Alpha Engg Pvt Ltd is located in this village, which is part of the Behror tehsil in Alwar. It is a rural area, so you see more fields and cows than high-rise buildings. Our setup is pretty simple. We have a building where we handle all the engineering tasks. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just have to wait it out or use the generator. It gets very hot during the summer months, and the dust from the roads finds its way into every corner of the office. We try to keep it clean, but it is a losing battle most days. People from the nearby villages like Majri Kalan come by often. We know most of our neighbors by name. It is a small community where everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We started small and eventually became a private limited company, but the way we work hasn't changed much. We still sit around the same old tables and drink tea while discussing the day's plans. There is no corporate ladder here, just a few of us trying to do our jobs well. The walk to the main road is a bit long, but the air is fresh in the mornings before the trucks start passing through on their way to Alwar. It is quiet here at night, except for the dogs barking, which is a big difference from the noisy cities.
