Allwyn Plastics

Allwyn Plastics is tucked away in the Ratty Compound over in Malad West. The compound is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We have a small workspace where we deal with different kinds of plastic goods. It’s not a clean, quiet office. There is usually the sound of machinery or tools in the background. We have piles of raw materials and finished pieces scattered around the floor. It’s a working space, so things are a bit dusty and disorganized at times. We don't have a receptionist; if the phone rings, whoever is closest to it picks it up. We focus on getting the work done and meeting the deadlines for the local businesses that buy from us. Some of the machines are old, but they still get the job done. We've been in this spot for a few years now. The commute can be a bit of a pain with the traffic in Malad, but we make it work. We aren't trying to be a massive corporation. We just want to keep the machines running and our customers happy with the items we make. It’s hard work, and we usually go home with tired backs, but it’s a living. We just take things one day at a time here. When the power cuts out, we use the time to sweep up the plastic shavings or grab a quick tea from the stall outside the gate. It’s just a regular workshop life in Ratty Compound for our small crew.
