Alis Salon

Opened up here in Malad West quite some time back. It’s just a regular spot on the street where people come in when they need a trim or a shave. Nothing too fancy about the place, just some chairs and mirrors and the usual tools. Most mornings start with cleaning the floor and making sure the towels are dry. The neighborhood gets busy around noon. We see the same faces mostly, guys from the offices nearby or people living in the back blocks. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic outside but you get used to it after a while. I try to keep the water running right and the lights working. It's just honest work day in and day out. Some days are slower than others especially when it rains hard and nobody wants to step out of their house. We just sit and wait for the next person to walk through the door. Usually, it's someone looking for a quick cut before a wedding or an interview. We don't do all that fancy stuff you see in malls. Just simple cuts and maybe some oil massage if someone asks. The fan makes a bit of noise but it keeps the place cool enough. Malad has changed a lot since we started but this corner feels the same. Just a place to sit down for twenty minutes and get your hair sorted out without any fuss. It’s okay here. It gets the job done.
