Alifiya Beauty Salon

You can find us over at Prabhadevi, specifically at the 12th Cross on Sadashiva Temple Road 1. Our salon is a modest little place where we spend our days doing hair, threading, and whatever else the ladies in the neighborhood need. The temple is right nearby, so there are always people walking past, and you can often hear the bells ringing in the morning. Inside, we have our mirrors lined up and a few comfortable chairs. It’s a place where people come to chat as much as they do to get their hair done. We don’t have any of those expensive machines you see in the big malls. We just use what works and what we’ve been trained to use over the years. The walls are painted a simple color, and we try to keep the place smelling nice with some incense or scented oil. It’s usually just a few of us working here, and we’ve gotten to know the families around Prabhadevi quite well. We see the same faces every month. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded on the weekends, and people have to wait on the small bench we have near the door. We just keep working through the appointments, making sure everyone gets what they asked for. It’s a basic business, and we take pride in just showing up every day and doing the work as honestly as we can.
