Al-bari & Sons Hand Embroidery Works

Al-bari & Sons Hand Embroidery Works is located at Plot No. 37/ J/ 1 in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi. We’ve been here for a good while now. It’s a family-run kind of setup. The workshop is where we spend almost all our time. Hand embroidery is slow work, so the days feel long sometimes, but we are used to it. We have our benches and our needles, and we just sit and work on the designs. Shivaji Nagar is a crowded area, and our plot is tucked in among many others. It’s not the quietest place, but we have our own little space inside where we can concentrate. We don't have any fancy signs or a big reception area. If you come to Govandi looking for us, you’ll just see us working. We don't put much stock in corporate talk. We just care about the stitches and making sure the fabric looks right. Sometimes the kids from the family are running around, and there’s always someone making tea. It’s a very local, down-to-earth environment. We've been doing this for years, passed down from one to the other. It’s just what we do. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are at Plot No. 37/ J/ 1 and they come by when they need something done.
