Aina Beauty Saloon

Being in Shop No. 1 at the Royal Accord Building means we see everyone who walks in and out of the main entrance. It’s a decent spot. Aina Beauty Saloon has been here for a bit now. Most of the time it’s just the sound of the scissors and someone talking about their day. We keep the floor swept, though hair gets everywhere. The building is okay, though the parking outside can be a mess on Saturdays. We have some regular customers who live in the apartments upstairs. They just pop down in their slippers sometimes. It’s practical for them and for us. The lighting inside is a bit bright, but you need that when you're working on someone's hair. We don't have a big team, just a few of us. We share a kettle for tea in the back room where we keep our bags. Sometimes the delivery guys come in looking for other shops in the building and we have to point them the right way. It’s just a normal day-to-day routine. We open up early and stay until the last person is done. There’s no big secret to what we do here. We just use the stuff we have and try to get the work done right so people don't complain about their looks. The mirrors are old but they work fine. We don't really bother with any of that modern decor stuff you see in malls. It’s just a shop.
