This is just our small place in Room Number 3. We are located in the Estowali Chawl, which is right on the path in Malad East. It’s quite close to the Noori Masjid, so we hear the calls for prayer all throughout the day, which is a nice rhythm for our work. It’s a very simple setup we have here. We do a bit of everything, mostly helping out the people living in the chawl and the lanes nearby with whatever they might need help with. It’s a very tight-knit community, and pretty much everyone knows everyone else’s name. We aren't a big company with a shiny office or a lot of employees, just a room where we sit and get things done. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, or the roof might leak a little when the monsoon gets really heavy, but we stay busy regardless. We’ve been in this spot for a good while now. People come to us because we’re right there in the heart of the neighborhood. We don’t really do any advertising; word of mouth from one neighbor to another is usually more than enough. It stays pretty busy, especially in the late evenings when everyone is finally coming home from their jobs. We like being so close to the masjid. It’s a good landmark for people who are trying to find us for the very first time. We just take everything day by day here and try to keep things moving along for everyone.
