We are based up on the 12th floor of Tower A in Oberoi Park View. It’s right in Thakur Village in Kandivali East. Mumbai life is always fast, and it’s no different here. Getting to the office in the morning can be a real pain with the traffic on the main road. The lift in the building sometimes takes forever because so many people live and work here. Our space is basically a flat that we have turned into an office for cement marketing. It’s a bit cramped with all the desks and chairs. If you look out the window, you can see a lot of the city. We spend most of our time on the phone talking to dealers. Our desks are covered in notebooks, half-empty tea cups, and piles of papers. We don’t have a big fancy entrance. It’s just a normal door with a small nameplate. The neighborhood is great for grabbing a quick snack though. There are plenty of little stalls nearby that sell good food. We work hard during the day and then head back home like everyone else in this city. Sometimes the internet connection drops out for a few minutes. We just take that as a sign to have another cup of chai. It is a practical place for us to keep the business moving. No one wears suits here unless there is a very big reason. Usually, it is just shirts and jeans.
