Adems Fine Chemicals

Down at 5 Sharma Industrial Sheds, you will find us at Adems Fine Chemicals. We are right across from Santogen, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find our gate. The sheds are a bit old and they get quite hot during the summer, but they serve our purpose for handling the chemicals we work with. There is always a faint smell of something sharp or sweet in the air, depending on what we are mixing that day. We have to be careful with the ventilation, so we usually keep the big doors open to let the breeze through. It is a small setup, just a few of us making sure everything is measured out and bottled correctly. The space is a bit cramped with all the drums and carboys stacked up, but we have a system that works. Sometimes when it rains, the sound on the corrugated roof is so loud we can't even hear each other talk. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a polished office; we just wear our aprons and get to work. Most of our neighbors are also in small sheds doing various industrial things, so there is a nice sense of community when we are out on the shared driveway. We usually have a quick chat with the guys from the next shed over while we wait for the courier to arrive. It is a simple operation, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday, and that is enough for us. We just do our work and go home.
