Being located in the Matunga Shalimar Industrial Estate is pretty convenient since the Tata Power House is right nearby as a landmark. Our unit at G 16 is usually crowded with crates and different types of machinery. Mumbai is always humid, and that makes moving heavy iron parts around quite a chore. The office part of the building is just a small corner we walled off so we could have a place to sit and talk to people. It’s got one window, but there is so much dust from the estate that you can't see much out of it. The guys working on the machines really know their business and can fix almost anything that goes wrong. We get our tea from the same local stall every day, and that’s a bit of a tradition for us now. It’s definitely not a quiet place to work. There is always the thumping of machines or the sound of a truck loading up right outside the door. We try to keep our tools organized on the racks, but when we get a big order, things tend to get a bit cluttered. We don't worry about having a polished image or anything like that. We just focus on getting the machinery built and shipped out to whoever needs it. It’s a busy life here in Matunga, but we are used to the pace of the city.
